Founded in 1960, Seoul’s University of the Arts (SUA) has grown to become a world-leading conservatoire. Offering an extensive range of programs in both the performing and fine arts, the university aims to provide their students with the finest arts education to help them grow as artists, musicians or performers, guiding them towards a successful future. SUA’s degrees are tailored to adapt students to the dynamic changes in art, a balance of classic and contemporary subjects taught in classes led by professors of the highest calibre.We are excited to announce SUA’s 2020 summertime trip to Italy! Trips abroad grew from a desire shared among faculty and students to stay engaged and connected throughout holidays. These give both staff and pupils an opportunity to discover in-depth aspects of their focused art, learn more about foreign cultures as well as build unforgettable memories.

ElectivesThough students are only allowed to major in one field at a time, taking on electives and exploring other artistic paths is more than welcomed. We fully support anyone who wishes to enrol in classes outside of their major, as long as it does not negatively impact your current academic plan.

Age RangeUnderneath are the age ranges for each year;The first years are 18 to 19 years old.The second years are 19 to 20 years old.The third years are 20 to 21 years old.And the fourth years are 21 to 22 years old.If you are considering becoming a professor, your muse should be a minimum of 27 years old.
If you are considering becoming a teaching assistant, your muse should be at least 24 years old.




ITINERARY

Our trip to Italy is a chance for both students and faculty to explore a culturally rich country through a range of different activities. From visits to museums to escapades around the city, the holiday will be packed with team building activities to strengthen relationships between students and teachers. Expect anything from game nights, scavenger hunts, and other unique events we’ll be hosting.During our stay, make sure to keep your baggage neatly packed as we’ll be heading towards different destinations throughout our journey! Keep an eye out for hints as to where we’ll be headed next, as we’ll be revealing our destinations through a series of clues.

TEAMS

While on our trip, students and faculty will be put into four different groups: Emberglow, Gardenia, Biome, and Orchid. Each team will be lead by a professor. Leaders will be revealed once we’ve arrived at our first destination in Italy.Various games will be held daily, and at the end of each day, points will be added up and the team with the most points will receive rewards.We’ll be revealing the winning team during a special event on the last day of our holiday abroad.

Often recognized for their cordial demeanours, members of Delta Tau Sigma are the leaders of many non-profit organizations and activist movements. They are passionate, understanding, and genuine to those around them.


Phi Mu Xi ΦΜΞ

Those who join Phi Mu Xi tend to be extroverts who specialize in throwing spontaneous parties that allow students to have fun and destress from academic pressures. They’re usually considered the ‘faces’ of the University and prioritize making everyone’s time there exciting.

FACULTY

Our faculty is here to provide students with the finest resources and help them grow into talented, sharp individuals. Their mission is to offer pedagogy that will stimulate their artistic touch, imagination, and minds all while developing the skills needed to excel in their art.This semester, the faculty has decided to expand the majors into divisions, providing students with new majors to choose from. With this new development, there will be no classes. Instead, professors will hold workshops for their courses throughout the semester. The faculty hopes this will give students more opportunities to be able to enjoy their university experience at SUA as university students in a better and improved environment. Professors and teaching assistants will be more present as supervisors or mentors for the students.Please note that as there will be no classes, there will be no assignments. No assignments mean less stress! So be sure to come to SUA and enjoy yourself! You could even become friends with your professors and their assistants. Don’t worry, they don’t bite.If you are considering becoming a professor, your muse must be at least 27 years old.
If you are considering becoming a teaching assistant, your muse must be at least 24 years old.

TEACHING ASSISTANTS (TAs)

Each professor will be accompanied by their very own assistant. Their role is to recap on what was mentioned during class and summarize for those who could not attend the lesson. They are there to help with ideas of possible tasks as well as collecting the work from students. Finally, students should ask their TAs for help outside of class when their teacher is unavailable.TAs should be at least 24 years old.
